Questions are mounting around the alleged assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, particularly regarding the autopsy of the supposed shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks. The handling of the crime scene and the subsequent autopsy has left many puzzled and demanding answers.
On July 13, Crooks was fatally shot on the roof of the American Glass Research (AGR) International building. Initial reports indicated that the coroner and a deputy returned to the scene early the next morning to confirm the death. This delay raises significant concerns about the chain of custody and security of the crime scene. The body reportedly remained on the roof for nearly twelve hours, with no clear indication of which law enforcement agency was responsible for securing the area during that time.

Adding to the controversy is the alleged mishandling of the autopsy report. AbleChild, an advocacy group, has been actively seeking the autopsy results to rule out the presence of psychiatric medications in Crooks' system, a factor often linked to violent incidents.
However, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office, which conducted the autopsy, refused to release the report. They cited that because Butler County paid for the autopsy, all related information must go through Butler County's coroner, William F. Young III.

This refusal contradicts Pennsylvania's laws, which generally mandate the release of autopsy reports to the public. The Butler County coroner’s office has further complicated matters by not providing the autopsy to anyone other than the next of kin, who have remained mostly silent. This lack of transparency has only fueled suspicions and conspiracy theories surrounding the event.
Furthermore, reports indicate that the FBI and other authorities involved have been less than forthcoming with details. For instance, the FBI has not confirmed whether the projectile recovered from Crooks’ body matches the alleged weapon used. This is a crucial piece of evidence that could either support or refute the lone shooter theory. There are also conflicting reports about the weapon's presence on the roof when the coroner finally accessed the scene, and whether photographs or other standard crime scene documentation were completed.
There are also allegations that the crime scene was tampered with, as photographs showed FBI personnel hosing down the roof where the shooting occurred. This action could potentially destroy critical evidence, adding another layer of mystery to an already perplexing situation.
The public's right to know what transpired on that fateful day, and the events that followed, is being overshadowed by bureaucratic red tape and opaque procedures.
